Thomas Cole’s studio at Cedar Grove

10 Hudson Valley Attractions were recently highlighted in Hudson Valley Magazine.  Two of them, Olana and Cedar Grove (the home of Thomas Cole), made the list.

We thought it would be a great idea to add more from our corner of the Hudson Valley.

Lindenwald

For history buffs a visit to Lindenwald is a must see.  The 1841 home of Martin Van Buren, the 8th President of the United States is a step back in time.  Thanks to a recent renovation the site, which continues to be a working farm, is a member of the National Park Service.  Guided tours provide a look into antebellum America and

“a microcosm for us to discover the transformations taking place in America during the 1840’s and 1850’s”.
